So I've had my Star Card since July 2012- limit $3150, then in Sept hubby and I got approved for the TAKE IT HOME acct for $3150....both cards are at 50% UTI, Hubby also has his own star card $3500 ($3K retail with $500 uniform)....Wondering if this is the "top" limit for their store card...I attempted to app for the MC version but was denied....I plan on waiting until these are PIF by the end of the year and app again for the MC version..in the mean time to lower utility, do you think it's better to wait and ask for a CLI or is this the highest CL for their store card???
The max credit line for the Star card is $7750. You could try to call and ask for a CLI but there isn't a button on the website, the FAQ section says they don't do consumer initiated CLIs and they review accounts regularly for CLIs. The rewards card is backed by Chase and isn't easy to get from what I've heard.
The max credit line depends on your rank and other things. I know it is above $7750. But, no, they do not do consumer requested CLIs.
My father's limit is at least $20,000... however, he's a retired O6 and has had that card probably since it came out.. I know the limit certainly goes by your rank and years of service.. as well as your credit among other things..
Thanks for the info- I'm not in the military I applied as a spouse (hubby was AD Army E6) but he was recently medically retired due to injuries sustained in combat. We were told we could keep our accts because he is considered "retired", so didn't know if we were at limit or not, but my Star card is JUST in my name, he has one JUST in his name and the Take it home is in both names jointly =) I don't wanna bother with Chase so I will leave it be and just continue to pay it off =)
