How many discover cards can a primary user have? Applicaiton limits, like once a year?
I currently have 1 as individual and 1 as AU.

afaik, AUs don't count against the 2 primary card limit but I don't know that for sure
but afaik unless Cap1 has changed something very recently, limit 2 discover cards, 12 months between discover card apps

Are we talking about multiple "Discover Cards" as in, say, a Cash-Back and a Chrome, or do you mean two Cash-Backs?
The Discover it Cash Back is really the only Discover card worth having and I could see the benefit of more than one to double the spending cap.

The Discover Miles is unlimited 3% for the first year when you factor in the match. Sure, it's not as useful after that, but it's the best 3% card for that year.

I guess but the Discover Cash Back also has cash back match for the first year. I'd rather earn 2% - 10% in year one and have a card with on-going value, than earn 3% for a year and then have a card that I can only use as an algae scraper in my fish aquarium after year one.

My Discover has sat in the sock drawer for at least 3 quarters now so I personally view each card as only being really good for a year.

I have the cash back credit card and the miles credit card. You have to have the first card for a year before they will consider giving you the 2nd card.
