My BOA Card says Emergeing Credit also

I have noticed my BOA 99/500 card says Emerging Credit. Well completed 5 statements so far. 4 more to go to become unsecured and then I'll do product change to TripRewards MasterCard.

I app'd for the Visa in hopes of getting a 99/500 offer with a 665 EX. Was still offered the secured card.

Hi fretless, I would say go for it if BOA offered you a secured card. The advantage of having a regular secured card instead of 99/500 you can choose what ever the amount of creditline you want by deposting the funds into secure account. My 99/500 is stuck at the limit of $500 and there is nothing I can do until it is unsecured. I can not add more funds to increase the CL. Had they given me a choice I would have choosen regular unsecured card than 99/500. Any way four more months hopefully it would become unsecured and I can ask for CLI.

I had thought about that concord, but decided that since I recently got approved for Amex at 9k, Citi Dividend Amex at 6k, and Chase Freedom at 10k, that I'm not concerned too much with BoA.

I actually think I might be done applying. All this time I've wanted a card with a good limit (not $300 with $59 AFs). Now I have a couple, and as they age they will CLI.

EQ has my credit file split. And I've had them fix it twice, but it's like they keep going back to the split version. One half has no derogs on it, the other half has 2 COs from 2002.

Update. I just pulled my TC this morning and those 2 COs seem to have finally gone away.

Congrats on that Fretless! When I got my CO's off my CR, it opened the way to apply for and get all the cards I wanted....and then some.

Now don't go hog wild on app'ing like I did!

Hi Silvia! I am trying to get them removed from EX also, but EX isn't allowing me to dispute again. It's saying that these items have already been verified.

I thought FCRA says they HAVE to investigate every time I dispute.

Now that I cannot answer authoritatively. Sorry.

But I do know you can only dispute once every 30 days OR after they send you a letter for the results of the dispute.

In fact, I've only disputed 1 thing in my life and it backfired on me, so I'm kinda gunshy of disputing anymore.

Dispute in writing and provide documentation that backs up your dispute
