My Offer from NFCU

nfcu my offer.JPG

It says my offer is an invitation to transfer and save. Is this prequalified or just an ad?

I have been with NFCU for just over 90 days, have an ez start certificate that I started immediately and add to each month with incoming transfer.

My stats are TU Fico 8 of 718, I have 5% utilization on 5 revolving accounts. All my installment loans are student loans, which are all paid off x 16. 2 of them were reported as collections, but have 0 balances, 0 missed or late payments, and I'm disputing those now, but they are on there for now, not making any sense. I applied for a cash rewards on day one after being prequalled and was denied, with scores just under 700 (but several new accounts). I do have 6 inquiries and a few recent accounts opened. I opened a paypal credit account with 700 limit, 0 balance 3 months ago, carecredit with 6500 limit, 0 balance 4 months ago, capital one quicksilver with 3600 limit and balance of like 180 from 10 or so months ago. Average age of accounts is still 12.5y.

I have 6 inquiries on TU, 2 from capital one, and 2 from nfcu. I am in the process of setting up DD, which will start later this month for like 1500 bucks or something. I am nervous to apply because I'm still pretty new and don't have the dd coming in yet. Also, since I paid off all of my student loans (16 of them), I have no more installment loans (I have a PIF Mortgage as well), I am thinking of starting a pledge loan with NFCU to have a current installment reporting and build my relationship. I obviously do not need to transfer any balances since my total debt is under 500 bucks, but I was thinking to just get a card, get a couple increases before the flagship PC. I do not want to waste another HP unless I know I'm going to get approved, since I was prequalled for cash rewards, then got denied on day one of membership and sincre have only been prequalled for secured.

What do you guys and girls think? Are the my offers things likely approvals, or just advertising?

Re: My Offer from NFCU

Personally, I would wait until you've got at least six months of history with NFCU before trying again for a card.  And stop applying for everything else between now and then.

Re: My Offer from NFCU

I'm definitely done applying for anything besides the NFCU card for the next year. I just want to get it and start the growth process.

If you click learn more and at the bottom there is the "Prescreening..." language then they soft pulled your credit and maybe a pre qualify. If not, then its just an ad.

Yes, I got one too.  I don't carry any NFCU CC's.  None of their rewards better what I already have.  Will be good for a churn someday.

Re: My Offer from NFCU

Well, I'm sure that you qualify for one, so that doesn't mean we both weren't pre-screened. How long have you banked with them? I too do not care about the platinum 0% for 12-months, BT offer. It is useless, but any card is fine... I can PC it later... Though that would negate any signup offer, so either way, it is probably better just to wait.

My new app approved numbers for the past year are way to high.  And I've got other CC's I rather get once I get down to 6/12.  Am at 9/12 for July.

My 1 year profile data is the only thing holding me back.  Have only been with NFCU for 5 months.  They are not one of my main banking accounts.
