Re: My first APR reduction thanks BOA !

Hi Luke5, for me anyway, this was my first try and ive had the account for 12 months. Im not sure if you can try every 6 months or 3, though id imagine 6 would seem more appropriate. Hopefully Credit Magic 7 sees this as i know he has much more experience with Boa.

If you think your profile is much better than previous attempt you should give it a try, i cant see any harm in asking. They may just suprise you. From what ive gather Disco is better to wait after your first year so thats on my to do listSmiley Wink. Best of luck on your lowering of your aprSmiley Happy

Hey Joe, just came across your post - a little late but I'd like to say "Congrats to you on a super duper reduction to your APR"! 3 percentage point reduction is nothing to yawn at! Good for you! Smiley Happy

Congrats!  I'll 2nd that their credit analysts are wonderful.  Never once speaking to them did I feel like I needed to be defensive or begin to fear that by the end of the call I'd end up with a closed account or some other AA.  (While I have never had any AA, this is how Chase analysts made me feel when I have talked to them.)  In fact, the last time I spoke to an analyst at BOA, she not only reduced my APR but even managed to talk me into opening another account even after I at first told her no. I was worried about another inquiry and a new trade line reporting since I had recently opened a number of new revolvers and refinanced a number of loans.  Fast-forward 3 months and that's a $21,600 card!  So you said earlier that you are thinking of gardening for 2 years, have you hit them up for a CLI yet?

In my experience with them their analyst have been superb!

Always a pleasant and mutually cooperative correspondence.

I think the shortest period i requested a CLI was around 4 months being right after a 3rd statement and it was approved for a nice chunk too,

Before i started using the luv button mid year last year i used to call in all of my requests for increases directly with their credit analysts.

Never once was turned down.

Well done and congrats AJC!

I've just opened my first card with BoA, and your news along with other testimonials here are making me want to give that card a little more use than I might've before.  Right now Chase is trying to give me yet another card (Freedom with a 24.74% APR.. Meh!). but I'm sworn to gardening until I get my BCE up to $10K.  After that I very well could go after another BoA card or two.
