One way to bypass this issue can be using the bill pay method of one external bank to pay for the Cap1 credit card. This way may have 1-2 days of delay and it should get planned in advance but it looks like it is a much trustworthy option.

Yeah I wasn't overly excited when they approved me right after my BK but I tell you it really wasn't jumping off point for my credit because a few months of solid payment history with them started leading to more offers pre-approval wise. If I'm on mistaken I think they were a pre-approval as well initially and I didn't immediately accept lol. I had this internal thought process of like "ok.. last chance to pre-approve me before I accept this crappy card! Anyone? No? Well, Credit One it is" 😂😂😂

Sorry, I could not resist ...

I'm  trying to be mindful of those that are rebuilding ..but sometimes have an axe to grind with Credit1's practices.

No reason to be sorry - you know you bring up a valid point. Now I'm wondering if they charged me a account reopening fee. And you absolutely hit the nail right on the head with all the fees they charge - good God. One thing that does really make me mad with them is their payment system. That's why they are always one of the first ones to be paid every month and as early as possible bc they frequently have issues with their payment site. It drives me nuts. That is one thing I consistently read when reviewing them and would say that is probably the biggest complaints I saw was the fees and their payment system.

**That's solid advice and thank you. I never thought about using bill pay and thinking about it makes sense what you're saying.

Yeah I definitely not heard a lot of good things about synchrony either. I have one card for them and that's my Care Credit card - the only card I've ever been pre-qualified for with them. I had to take my dog to the emergency vet in May 2022 and didn't have the extra cash to pay them to see my dog so I had to quickly fill out a Care Credit pre-qualification on their site and I was approved. My pup ended up being okay in the end - $850 later. Other than the Care Credit card I am a ghost to them LOL.

If you don't mind can I ask something? If you don't want to answer I completely understand and no hard feelings, but you said you had a synchrony card and I am wondering if you have any Capital One cards besides your Walmart/Cap1, like strictly just a Capital One card or if you have trouble getting them. It looks like you have a great FICO score so I couldn't imagine you would but when it comes to Synchrony and Capital One it seems like a very left-sided and right-sided crowd. Like on one side you have people who get approved by Capital One but not synchrony and on the other side you have people who get approved by synchrony but not Capital One. Have you found that to be the case? Capital One loves me - in the past year and a half I think I've opened three cards with them but again when I try to do a pre-qualification for synchrony Bank they have the bouncer at the door ready to kick me out lol.

I hear you. We take what we can get after BK. As they say, it's a marathon, not a sprint, though the quicker you progress past CreditOne, the better!

Your "case" is based on a bottom-feeder, predatory credit card company with close connections to a notorious collection agency. Credit One's shady practices are well known. Whether or not it was CreditOne's fault does not change what they are. Period.

If you are proud to be carrying a CreditOne card, good for you. 👏🏼 🙄

All I said was that nothing shocks me about CreditOne. You got triggered. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I am not triggered I have a credit one card in my sock drawer, my point was and is if you have a bad predatory card from them you likely did something to deserve it. If you don't see the irony in me saying people end up with bad cards because of a lack effort, reading comprehension and a track record of poor choices and the very next reply is someone who can't distinguish between credit one and capital one you might be in the demographic I am talking about.

Credit One serves a purpose, and yes I will say if you end up having a problem with them there is a very high likelihood you are to blame.

I don't see the purpose in bad mouthing them in a situation they are not to blame, or pretending they are in some way extra worse than the rest of the card issuers that serve the same bracket 99% of all problems with any card are customer driven blaming credit one for having bottom feeder customers is silly. It is not the company it is their clientele.

Name me the issuer that would reopen the account of a customer they closed due to repeated payment issues a customer that the whole reason they have an account with said issuer is their history of making mistakes...That is exemplary custoner service.

Re: NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE

Not sure if I should give you applause or my condolences on your reopening of the Credit One account.

The hassle you just went through is just one of so many reasons to avoid it. On the other hand beggars can't be choosy.

If possible get a secured card through a non viper bank if possible. In any event best of luck in a sometimes difficult rebuild after a Chap 7.

Re: NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE

Just a reminder to stay on topic. The bashing really isnt going to prove anything to the OP. Nor contributes to the threads title. Especially if your not a card holder. Many creditors have their flaws. Many had to get things going with sub-prime lenders like Credit1 and others. No other choice. Least it turned out well for @Legally_Speaking2512 . Thats all that matters. Congrats!

Mines your opposite. I have like $60k + in Synchrony CL's but a Cap1 Quicksilver was forever stuck at $1900. No offers for other cards.
