NEW Card recommendations please ?

**MODS may delete the original post in Credit Card approvals **

Hello all !

I am looking to open a new card to perhaps take advantage of a 0% BT, and wanted to see what you all thought of in terms of a bank or CU that typically primarily pulls EQ? TU is frozen due to unauthioirezed accounts noted & disputes, and EXPERIAN I have a lot of inquiries and was denied due to this from a few banks including Citi & BofA (Recon pending there with EO, as UW is no longer available it seems via phone?)

What is perplexing is that my file is 40 years+ old (I'm over 70 years old), and my scores range from 780-825, depending on CR. EQ is at 790.

Stats:

Scores: 780-825

AAofA: 25 years

Inquiries: EQ 4. TU 8. EXP 10 (all within 6-12 months)

NO missed payments ever

Income: $200k approx.

Most cards are $20-45k limits, all accounts over 5 years old some much older. These denials for Inquiries alone was never a thing in my day friends ! In my 30-50s I could apply with 30 of them and be given $40k limits ! I get it times change !

Let's see what you got ! Thanks all !

Depends too on how many of your cards have a balance as well as percentages. If you are carrying a lot of balances and or have cards with high utilization,  you might be in for a tough time. That being said, especially in my state, finding a card that pulls only TU is tough. (No wonder it's my best score)

EQ 784, TU 700, EX 683
Mortgage 5, 4, 2: EQ 783, TU 683, EX 661

Starting (started months ago, checked scores after some improvements): EQ 599, TU 653, EX 672
Mortgage 5, 4, 2: EQ 592, TU 657, EX 639

Re: NEW Card recommendations please ?

Thnak you for the reply !

I forgot to add my util. is under 10%, usually 8-9% overall with $150k total CL. No one card is over 30% util.

I am primarily looking for EQ pulls. I know it varies but indeed with my file there has to be some excellent offers out there !

I appreciate any and all input

The only places I can think of that are exclusively EQ are PenFed CU and Citizens Bank. I've had numerous BT offers from PenFed in the past and I just got BT checks from Citizens in the mail today. (0% through July 2024/4% BT fee.)

Thank you ! I was thinking Citizens as I bank with them and they hold a lot of my assets. I am unsure of their limits typically however !

Check in branch to see if you are preapproved.   I had no relationship with them and went in to ask about their credit card (which at the time was the amazing 5% on everything until a certain date about 6 months away.  Two aircraft carriers later.....).   They just looked me up and said "Oh, you are preapproved" and never did any pull. YMMV

My SL with Citizens was $11.3K. EQ08 was someplace around 790 when I apped for it about 3 months ago. $200K/year income, not a lot of INQ's on my EQ but a decent amount of new accounts reporting. I have a Business CC with Citizens also, but no other relationship beyond that.

If you already have a deposit relationship with Citizens and your stats, I'd say it'd be worth a shot thumbsup.gif
