I ended up closing mine January 2016 when they stopped letting you add money to it. Not sorry about it, just sharing![]()
Been holding out on cancelling mine in hopes that they'd give me back my deposit soon. But I guess not. I do actually want the Quicksilver towards the end of the year though. Haven't used my secured since August...guess I'd rather get my deposit back and be able to forget about the card.
Just closed it! My oldest card but oh well...gave up on it getting graduated.
It's about time Cap1 finally woke up and decided to start doing this. Unfortunately for me this happened after I closed my secured card. I started my credit rebuilding with the secured card with Cap1 in 2012. By Feb 2016 my scores drastically improved so I was able to apply for real reward cards of which three of them were with Cap1. Quicksilver $3k CL, Venture $15k CL and the Venture One $7.5k CL.
I contacted Cap1 numerous times about upgrading my secured card or moving the CL to one of my new cards and was told these options were not available. I hated that they were holding onto my $800 deposit so I ended up closing the account in August or September 2016. But I don't have any regrets about closing this card. It served it's purpose and it was time to move on.
Mine also graduated to unsecured after 11 statements. I always PIF every month, except for December. Capital One is awesome. I've only had good things to say about them in my rebuilding journey. :-)
It seems like there's only a very small number of cards getting unsecured. Has anyone been unsecured with more than the minimum deposit on the account?
I've tried that and no graduation. Then I tried charging way more than my CL and paying off in full before statement cut and still no graduation. My card will be 2 in Oct at which point I will probably close it if it does not graduate because as it is now it won't grow at all.
hey any updated?
