Hey everyone!
Back with another NFCU thread, I was able to transfer a partial CL amount of my newly approved NFCU card to my existing one. It's possible! Just ask via Secure Messaging.
I am confused. What are you saying? That you had one NFCU card already, then you applied for a second card, then you called NFCU and asked them to add the credit limit from the second card to the first card? Wouldn't it have been easier to have asked to a credit limit increase to the first card without going to the trouble of opening and closing a second card?
Hey, sorry about that, let me clarify. I've opened my first card 3 months ago and at 90/3, I request a cli on it but it was denied. However, I was approved for 15K on a new CC, I then transferred 5K from the new card into the existing one. I did not close the new one however, just transferred the limit. The reason was because I wanted to see if they will actually allow CL transfers.
Well done!
What were the two cards involved in this swap? I seem to remember someone saying that you couldnt combine Their Navy AmEx with another card. Not sure if that is true or if I even remembered it right. Can anyone provide any auhtority on Navy's policies on combining limits between different card?
Nice!

They do now but remember you wont be elible for a cli for 6 months now ...
To clarify: not eligible for a CLI on either card for 6 months? if so, how does this scenario differ from if OP had just taken his new 15K and left his original card as is?

It is not the norm and actually isnt really what they are supposed to do but they do make exceptions on a case by case basis. Stay tuned for some personal news and ill add some info
