Just checked the other day to pay my NFCU Go Rewards and saw I got a CLI bump: 13500 to 15600. I'm overdue to request a CLI or add'l card. Should I do either, both or neither?

Unfortunately there is not any recon for CLI with NFCU ☹️
You get whatever amount they are comfortable based on your internal score at this time. Your date of next CLI is also reset so it will be 6 months before you can request another CLI. If you want to gain more control over future CLI, you can request your card(s) not be eligible for auto increases. Either a phone call or secured message will work.
Regarding an application for an additional card, it appears you did not receive the max CLI, currently 8K, which makes me think you may be at the max unsecured CL NFCU is comfortable with at this time. Of course with all things credit, YMMV 🙂

I wouldn't personally automatically assume that every auto-cli is a maximum CLI, I've never personally seen a DP here of an auto 8k max CLI, max CLIs only appear to be manual CLIs. I could be wrong though
@Jarheadmajor if you want a different card, consider either product changing your original card to the card you want, or applying for it directly.
you may eat a denial if you're at the maximum amount of credit, but that's a risk you'll have to take if you want a second card. they won't gracefully move CL from one card to another, you'll just get denied or a token limit if you're at or near your personal limit.
if you don't already have some direct deposit going into a checking, I would get that going first if you don't think your profile supports any more credit limit from navy
I also 100% agree with calling/messaging Navy and asking them to disable auto-CLIs for your card, and if you get a second card, you should do it for that as well.
you are locked out of CLIs for that card for 6 months now sadly, you can try calling and pleading your case:
'hey, I just got this auto-cli, any chance this CLI can be reconsidered for (earlier limit + $8k) or have the increase declined and ask if you can then ask for a manual CLI afterwards without waiting 6 months?'
but I doubt it will work
You are correct nfcu. 8k is the max on cli.You got lower for some reason.
( I think this is in part to all those people on youtube bragging about backdoor memberships, and late night hacks and other falsehoods)
i been with them almost 20 years (814 fico- transunion, which is who theu pull)- , pay in full all accounts every month or 2, and i only got 8k increase.
I have 77,000 CL on my NFCU Flagship Rewards.
I don't particularly remember how big my CLs have been. I started at 30k and I believe from there I made it to 45k. This however was a long time ago 10 years plus. I did go 65k, 73k, 77k in that order. My highest balance with NFCU was 73,000+ and I paid it off.
I did go from 5k to 15k on my CLOC which is a 10k increase back in 2018.
I'm not sure if 8k is a hard and fast rule or if there are exceptions like I was pushing up my limit because I was at the limit.
