NFCU Credit Card App Question

Does anyone know what the typical score that gets approved? I am anxious to apply for NFCU cashrewards card but I definitely dont want a HP with a denial. Ive been gardening all my deployment and just trying to keep on track with my goals.

First off, thank you for your service. Stay safeSmiley Happy

Ok, looking at your siggy, your scores seem abit low right now. However we have seen with Navy, all is possibleSmiley Happy. They truely are agreat CU who iften times look past scores. If you can provide any more info on your profile it might help get better replies. My opinion is if you dont want to keep waiting for scores to rise, taking a hp now will at least let you know where you stand with them. You never know they might suprise youSmiley Wink. Good luckSmiley Happy

Re: NFCU Credit Card App Question

Unfortunately Navy can be all over the place.  I've seen folks get an approval with scores that were in the very low 600's and on the opposite end of the spectrum, I've seen denials with 700+ scores.  There are a lot of factors such as DTI, history, scores (obviously), etc.  Nothing is certain but I do believe that you can get give yourself a better chance by having low utilization, stonger history, and decent income.  In my opinion, Navy really isn't inquiry sensitive and do know that they HP for just about any and everything.  Best of luck to you!

Re: NFCU Credit Card App Question

Thank you. My score is being held down due to some collections and missed payments when I was deployed. My ex wife just stopped paying my bills. After my divorce I was struggling for a while, but recently since July I have been putting in work and raised my score from 485 to 600 paying off every debt, getting secured card from Discover and Capital One Quicksilver (both CL below 500). Finally today I was approved from Navy Federal for the Ncashrewards for 15K. I almost fell out of my chair! I was so astounded, I was thinking I had a slim chance of getting approved but they gave me a CHANCE!
