I was approved for the NFCU Platinum Card on April 28th at 14.99%.
I knew I wanted to do a PC and tonight I called NFCU Customer Service to change to the More Rewards AMEX Card. To my surprise, my interest rate DROPPED to 11.99% when I changed cards (but will always PIF
)!
With 3X the points on gas, transits, restaurants, and supermarkets and 1X the points on everything else it was a no brainer for me! Don't leave money on the table! ![]()
Now to let this one grow and earn that cash back!! #lovenfcu
Congrats on the approval, product change and APR drop! 👍🏼
Congrats!

I also got the platinum at 14.99 around the same time as you. I really can't see myself using it very much because i have lots of cards with points and cash back which is a much better reason to use a credit card. I don't want to PC to the Amex though, I have 3 amexes through Amex directly that I don't use enough as it is. Some places I go to don't accept Amex and it's frustrating where visa/MasterCard is accepted pretty much everywhere world wide. I also have a secured nfcu card that will possibly convert to cash rewards in a couple months so probably not wise to pc to that.
But congrats for you!!! I didn't know you could PC so quickly like that. Did they tell you before/while on the phone that your interest rate dropped or did you notice online?
The CSR informed me as soon as the PC was done with my new interest rate. It was instant!
