NFCU Product Change

Before Feb 16, 2024 (Statement Cut Date) I had the Plat card at 12.24% APR with $43k CL. When I asked to change the card to Flagship Rewards, I was told that the APR would change to 18% on the 15.24%-18% APR Flagship scale. Has anyone seen that they just recalculate the APR since I would assume that the APR would be 16.24% and not 18%?

Seeing how the account is nearing close to another CLI (no clue if I should merge or just to a CLI straight out) should I ask if they reduce the APR or has that ship sailed? The account's anniversity is in April.

Re: NFCU Product Change

Do you get the sub if you pc? Maybe keep the low interest card app for flagship. Any way to waive 👋the af? I 💘 me a big sub, hate those afs.

Re: NFCU Product Change

All I know is that they silo the APRs into each individual card so one range isn't necessarily the same as another card.

merging means you lose out on the flexibility of you having a platinum/cash rewards you'd have to have a flagship. do the CLI, and then request the merger, the merger probably counts as a CLI for the 180 day rule.

YMMV on the merger, they tend to be nicer to the people with 80k lines, I had to ask numerous times and only after alluding to a BT of an amount I didn't specify, they agreed and were fine to let me pay interest on ~3k for a day before I paid it off.

there's definitely some per account voodoo that goes on with Navy APRs, my card that started as a nRewards was pegged at 18 while my second card (which started at max APR) was granted the lowest APR on the platinum after requesitng a lowered APR and a PC

1. No sub for pc

2. ATM I see no need for the Plat so I switch to Flagship -> 3. Because of several DPs it seems that the Amazon Prime can be refunded if purchase through the Flagship so ~$139ish vs $49 AF.   ... I would take the $49 as a clear trade about the AF.

I thought it was strange on why it wouldn't be 16.24% when I took the PC; just to be the same point base but adjusted on the Flagship APR scale.

It does make me wonder if I can reduce the APR but I have no clue just by taking the PC reset the clock from asking.
