NFCU Secured Cards Graduation Data Points Needed

Does anyone have any information on the calculation NFCU uses.  I have had my card for some years now with no graduation but have an additional card with them.

I've got the same issue but I only have the secured card. It seems they do an internal calculation after the first 6 months you e had it and maybe the following 6 months but after that, nothing. I have gone months paying my entire balance off and Ive had my card for almost 3 years now I think. I've raised the limit about a year ago and still nothing.

Starting Score: 549

Current Scores:

Goal Score:
700

@Anonymous  First of all, I would like to applaud you for the patient that you show for the card.  I read in another thread that you've had the card for 3.5 years and it still hasn't graduated. Just wow.  Have you tried using the *bleep* out of the card one month?  Let the statement cut w/ near max out, and then the next month pay it off w/ $0 balance?  Maybe call CSR or send a SM and ask them what you can do to get the card graduated?

Just some DP when my card graduated after 6 months.  I've always carried a balance every month, up to as much as 997/1000 limit on the 5th statement.  Then I paid it off and let a $0 balance reported on the 6th statement.  The next day after the statement generated, they graduated my card.  My Navy score started at 640 and by the time it graduated was 673.  GL!!

I stopped in to add...

Also try making multiple payments each month to possibly raise tour internal score, at this point I could not hurt!

Good luck 🤗

Thanks everyone and I did all of that.  Trueth be told I thought my issue was I let it sit for so long above 90% utilization it even went past 100% a couple of times after I paid and interest hit.  I eventually paid it down and now just about pay it off every month this is the card I chose to leave a few dollars on each month.  Been doing that now since last Oct.  I was elatted when they approved me for the GoRewards which I switched to MoreRewards.  I selected the wrong card at app time.  The only thing I have not done was increase my spending limit.  I may try that.  I also hope after my first couple of billing cycles on the MoreRewards it graduates. @Credit4Growth @pt91978

Re: NFCU Secured Cards Graduation Data Points Needed

I did not realized the until was around 90% for such a time period, as well you have gone over the CL at least once.

If it were me, & happy to be approved for a 2ns card,

on this secured card I would run 2x -3x the expenses though it forn3 months while making 2-3 payments per month on it.

I do not believe such of an mount of spend would be considered out of the ordinary (with this issuer considering your MoreRewaeds approval which has yet to have a spend track record) they could be expecting your spend to increase a bit given that they recently reviewed your credit & approved you for another CC.

Just my 2 cents!

CONGRATS on the More Rewards!

Re: NFCU Secured Cards Graduation Data Points Needed

Congrats on your second card .

I wish I had the answer to this question also. I've had my $500 secured card for 14 months now. Last month I applied for the GoTewards and they gave me $20k SL. I carried a balance for first 5 months at 50-60% utilization. Then started paying down to under 20% for 6th to 10th months then paid in full 11th month and haven't charged anything on it since.

At this point I convince it will just stay secured. Even though it would be nice to get my $500 back. Hope you graduate soon.
