I HIGHLY Recommend Nordstrom.  Once you get open it will quickly be your Favorite card you ever carry, unless you have AMEX!

they have tiers for interest rates, so even if you start high, call and ask for lower and they will usually go down atleast 1 and then after 3-6 months of payments take you further down (tier 1 is PRIME!!)

Credit lines come just as easy as interest rate reductions.

Folks, these people at Nordstrom are by far my best CC relationship. Started with their store card on 10-04, CL 1000 Went thru BK on 05-06, Account was not included in BK since balance was xero at time of BK. Went to shop with DW on 11-06, line was inactive. Soft pulled EQ, reopened account. Called them on 01-07, gave in CLI 2000, kewl... On 05-07 got another CLI 4700, no Soft Pulled that time or on 01-07. On 05-07 Upgraded account to Platinum Visa, lowered APR to tier 1, Now on 09-07, got statement... CLI went up again to 6000, again no cr pull. Rep called recently to upgrade my platinum to signature series card. I told them will consider after new year. Rep told me they will wait for my input on that matter. Love Those Folks at Arizona

Scores when I got Store card was 685 EQ, never got another CRA pull ever since

Ashabir1, I think you should write a letter to CEO of Nordstorm and tell him how much you like their store. Usually companies like that kind of compliment. I might try to get since every one is saying good things about this card. Or may be I should wait 6 months before I apply again. We will see what I'll decide.

No wonder they're so good to work with; they have their own bank behind their cards! So you're not really dealing with WFN or GEMB or any of the other fun store card issuers.

Target seems to have its own bank, as well.

Wish they'd build a Nordstrom here. I'm sick of having to drive to Hotlanta every time I want to visit a good store. A mere 3 1/2 hours, each way.

I got Dillards card and I get rewards but I can redeem it only at the stores. I live in PA and they stores in VA. I would not be able to use it and they would expire.

It is not bad to live within a walking distance to a store.
