Navy FCU CLI Datapoint

As advised on this forum, I have been requesting $8k CLIs on my NFCU Flagship card every six months.  Each time when I requested a CLI, it asked how much I wanted, I chose $8k and was approved.

This month when I requested a CLI, I received a different screen asking for my income and stating that they might need to pull a report.  First I thought this happened because less than six months had elapsed.  Then when I was sure I was past 180 days, I tried and still got the message.  I thought the new screen may be that I reached their internal limit.  Finally I decided since my reports are frozen I would pull the trigger and ask for the CLI.  Immediately, it came back for an $8k approval bringing me up to $48,800.  No HP.

I mention to help others understand that they changed their online process but it appears they are simply giving the $8k increase without asking how much the customer wants for those who qualify.

Good to know, thanks for sharing!

And congrats on the $48k CL. How long have you had it and how much spending do you charge on it?

Congrats on your CLI !   I noticed this too when I received a CLI last month. 6 months ago when I requested, I was able to request a specific amount. No longer though.

I obtained the Flagship Card as a product change so the history shows I have had the card for about 28 yrs.  During that time, they never increased my $8500 original credit limit until I started asking for an increase every six months based on this board's recommendation.  Last year I charged about $22k on the card, not all at once, just spread out through the year and I paid every statement in full.  One month I missed the payment due date through oversight so I paid the entire outstanding balance to zero before the statement generated.  I was pleased that NFCU did not charge interest as would have happened with other banks by missing the payment due date by two days prior to the statement generating.
