Navy Federal Auto Pay Minimum

For all of my credit cards, I have auto pay set so that if I don’t make a payment, it will pay the minimum payment on the due date. Is this possible with Navy Federal? I called customer service and the rep said you had to use a fixed amount and it would go through even if you make a payment before. Such a bummer if that’s the only way.

Have you gone onto your online portal? I believe you can set it for minimum payment.

Yes, I've logged into the online portal. I have not had a payment due yet, so maybe the interface changes when that happens?

Perhaps, I think so. Mine is set at minimum payment for auto pay.

Re: Navy Federal Auto Pay Minimum

I find Navy to be a little quirky. Here's an example:

You can pay a Navy cc bill on a biweekly basis from an outside bank, but you CAN'T pay same bill in same manner from a NFCU account. (Huh??) Neither paying through the CC pay button nor the Checking transfer to CC option will allow it.

My advice, seriously, if you don't see what you want, call to complain. Multiple voices will, someday, urge them to catch up and be just a little more consistent. Then, while you're waiting for the aircraft carrier to turn around in the Gulf of Oman, do whatever you want from your own bank's bill pay buttons.

Rebuilding is like smoking a brisket: it takes a lot of love, the right spice, and a ton of patience. You don't rush a brisket-- it goes low & slow. Sometimes, you need a crutch through the stall. In the end, the process matters.
2021 goals:
1) GARDEN until I app for Mortgage.
2) Pay Down overall revolving debt aggressively and accountably, to under 30%, including my HELOC.
3) Don't waste the gifted 0% time on the student loans.
4) Ultimately, refi the house at non-usury terms.

Re: Navy Federal Auto Pay Minimum

I was having a conversation about this a day or so ago. Lol
That is one of the rubs that keeps me from even remotely considering NFCU as a main account.
Also means I don't use the cards as frequently as I might.
I like to set it and forget it. Not worry about a bill popping up and not automatically being paid by the due date.
Unless paying directly from a Navy Federal account, there's no autopay guys.

Re: Navy Federal Auto Pay Minimum

Just use your Navy cards as a PIF card. Wait for charge to post and pay. Everyone wants the huge limits but dont want to use them for not having an autopay. I know for many autopay is very important but it shouldnt be a deal breaker. We still can make manual payments lol. Ok, let me finish my first coffeeSmiley Wink

😂

That's the only way I can use them Bro. Lol

Be mindful of the flagship yearly fee. If you're not careful.

You can catch a late payment fee. Or even worse, a 30 days late on your CRs.

I've set notifications on all of these to alert me of a payment being due.

I would like to put a reoccurring bill on one of them, as I do all my main issuers, but it's just not possible.

You can set up a recurring monthly payment on the app. Just go in like you’re going to make a payment and you can set it up there.

Re: Navy Federal Auto Pay Minimum

Haha, guys.

Sometimes I don’t think people read very thoroughly.

I pay all of my credit card bills in full every month, but what if I was in the hospital for two weeks and missed the payment (or any other reason)? That’s where it’s nice to have the account auto pay the minimum payment.

There have been mixed answers so far in this thread, which is a bit surprising.
