Frequently Asked Questions What changes can I expect on April 2, 2025? - You’ll see the new cashRewards Secured name and branding when you sign in to your account and in your monthly statement and other messages from Navy Federal.
- Instead of points for your purchases, you’ll be getting cash back.
- All other terms and conditions of your credit card agreement, including rates, fees and interest calculations, will stay the same.
- You’ll keep using your existing card until it expires or we send you a new one.
Can I still use my nRewards Secured card? You and all authorized users should continue using your nRewards Secured card until it expires. We’ll send a new cashRewards Secured card before your current card’s expiration date. You’ll also receive a new cashRewards Secured card if you’re issued a replacement card for any reason. Once you receive your new cashRewards Secured card, be sure to activate the card, destroy your old nRewards Secured card and update any recurring payments to your new card. How will the rewards program change? On April 2, your account will begin earning 1% cash back for every $1 of eligible purchases. As with your current account, there’s no limit on the amount of rewards you can earn. Your existing nRewards Secured points must be redeemed prior to April 2. After that, existing points will be converted to an equivalent cash reward (1 point = $0.01 cash back). Card rewards can be accessed with the Navy Federal mobile app* or at navyfederal.org. Will these changes affect my account’s eligibility for a potential upgrade? No. Just like before, we’ll review your account after it’s been open for 3 months to determine if you’re eligible for a credit limit increase without having to add to your deposit. After 6 months, we’ll start reviewing your account each month to see if you’re eligible to upgrade to a cashRewards unsecured card. Making on-time payments and keeping your balance within your credit limit can help you in getting approved for a card upgrade. Are the Visa® and Mastercard® travel, entertainment and shopping benefits changing? You’ll continue to have access to all your card network’s travel, entertainment and shopping benefits. Review your card network’s benefits here. Will I get a new rewards program description? As part of this change, we’re revising your card’s rewards program description to reference the cashRewards Secured card name and reflect your card’s new cash-back earning structure. You can review a copy of the updated cashRewards Secured Program Description here. Questions or comments? Please contact us. We’re here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
