Sorry if this is a repost. Just received an email saying my cashRewards card is moving to 2% CB on all purchases but didn't have time to read before work and posting this. The question is, what will Navy do with the Flagship now that the cashRewards will get 2% back without an AF?

Based on the terms at the bottom, this is a limited promotion only for those who got the email, afaik the card still remains 1.5/1.75 w/dd for everybody else or new applicants

I got the same email.
Here's the fine print (so it looks like a 1.5% with a 0.5% "bonus"), either way, it just got better:
*This offer is non-transferable and is valid for the intended recipient only. This means that only members who receive this email directly from Navy Federal are eligible. Earn a total of 2% cash back on every $1 of eligible net purchases made with your cash Rewards credit card. The cash back will post when the purchase transaction posts to your account on or after 07/11/2024. You will receive a total cash-back amount through a combination of a base earn rate (1.5%) and a bonus earn rate (0.50%). Rewards are earned on eligible net purchases. "Net purchases" means the sum of your eligible purchase transactions minus returns and refunds. Eligible purchase transactions do not include, and rewards are not earned for, the following transactions: cash advances, convenience checks, balance transfers, gambling, or fees of any kind, including finance charges, late fees, returned check fees, and ATM cash advance fees. Cash-equivalent transactions, such as the purchase, loading, or reloading of gift and prepaid cards (e.g., money orders, GO Prepaid Cards, and other cash-equivalent gift cards), may not be eligible purchase transactions and may not earn rewards. The recipient is solely responsible for determining any personal tax liability, if applicable. Account must be open and not in default at the time the total cash back post to your rewards balance. You will be notified if there are any changes to how cash back is earned.

I got the same email. With more cards offering a baseline of 2% cash back I wonder if this might be a pilot of some sort, potentially rolling out to all card holders at some point. Or, perhaps it's just to entice me to start using the card again. I haven't used it in several months since I switched over to the Chase ecosystem for my CC spend.

Nice! Congrats.
I hope that this is a new normal that will still be around when I apply in February '25.
EDITING TO ADD: Welp, nevermind, lol. Just read @GZG and @CreditCobra 's post regarding the fine print on that.

I got the offer and I use my card for over 1k purchases per month.
The fine print lists a start date.......... but no end date?
@ptatohed : "You will be notified if there are any changes to how cash back is earned." I guess they'll let us know when they're going to cut us off lol

Reminder: I check in at the end of the month (once or twice either I missed or didn't always get an email.) Every other month they seem to have 10% promo bonus reward offers on the cashrewards. There should be one coming up for August.
