Do you need to use a new card at all to make it report? I dont want to get any "ND" (no data) entries on my credit reports from not using some new cards that have yet to report...
I know the GE ones automatically report in an instant...but what about J Crew?
Just double checking...
Its up to the card issuer. Some report only with use. Some always report.
My guess is that a new card would always make it to you credit report eventually.
Are you asking about J Crew card specifically? Who issues that one?

Well yes i guess im asking about J Crew (Comenity), but ive already used that one for a small purchase.
The Paypal Smart Connect (GE) and Amazon Store Card (GE) reported immediately.
I was more just asking as a general rule, but now that i look at it im pretty sure all these accounts should report without much input from me and that should help utilization and all that...
The Chase Ink Cash wont report because it only reports to business...but thats actually a good thing IMO.

+1
My J. Crew CC reported almost within two weeks of approval (received pre-approved offer). Made purchase, PIF before statement generated, reported balance = $0.

This is generally true of any Amex/Discover/Visa/MC card.
However, in the case of store cards that are not on the Big 4 networks, there are quite a few that will not report until you use the card. Jewelry stores seem to be the most commonly-cited example.
J.Crew will at least report the first time...either -$0- or whatever balance that was on the statement.
Comenity won't cut a statement if your balance has been -$0- for the entire month, so nothing will report then. If you had a balance one month and then paid it to -$0- the next, that would report accordingly.
