New Accounts 0% APR on Purchases State Date

When new accounts are opened that offers 0%  teaser rates on purchases for 6 months, does the 6 months begin immediately,  after activation  or  by a specified date to take advantage of the teaser rate.

I know for BTs, you have until a specific date to take advantage of a teaser rate.  Is it like that with purchases?  Thanks!

Thanks, bunnyrabbit! I kind of figured that.  I would've liked for my 6 months to  start in October when my Chase 6 months on purchases expire.
