New BBVA 2% card

Nice. I'm hoping that this 2% cash back wave catches on quickly and becomes the new norm.

Might be too little too late as far as jumping into the 2% card game for BBVA but at least they added a small SUB to the card like Citi has for their DC card.

Apart from the geo restriction (Only Available in Alabama, Florida, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, California, and New Mexico) still a weak offering IMO!  To get 2% requires $1000 per month deposit into a BBVA account, otherwise it earns 1.5%

IME in Texas they have a big presence around here so I can see some people doing it if they were already banking with them but I agree it's still weak regardless.

The bank people here call "BBVA" is actually BBVA/Compass Bank; it was previously just "Compass Bank" before being bought by BBVA Group back in 2007. 

It's possible there's a BBVA/Bancomer (or other BBVA subsidiary) branch near D.C., since BBVA/Compass doesn't seem to have any branches further east than Alabama/Florida according to their web site.  Of course it's also possible the web site is simply out of date...
