New CC stratagies

I was thinking about the Southwest rewards card for miles.  I also need to transfer my old 2K rooms2go to a good balance transfer card to save on the horrible rates.  Maybe Chase Slate?  I do have 7 HP on my 2 year history but only 4 in the past 12 months, 2 of these will fall of in August.  The other 3 past 12 month HP will also fall off in August.

So what would you guys do?  Apply for both in the same day?  Just get the Slate and wait till my HP fall off to get the SW card?

Re: New CC stratagies

Do you know your real Fico scores?

How many INQ's on EX and EQ because Chase may double pull for both cards? YMMV

Total UTL across all cards?

Cards you have now?

This info will better help with answers Smiley Wink

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Red flag explain closed rooms to go account if you have a balance... Open or closed?

If just a typo then I would say yes app slate first then based on that approval then SW but its all contingent on the limit Slate gets

Re: New CC stratagies

Cc 8/13 is cap one
The other is Lowes, the third I have no idea the date does not match up.
Yes the r2g is closed with a 2 balance. That is the only reason I want the Slate card.

New cap one fako today is up to 724😁

Re: New CC stratagies

The SWA card is a good one if you fly them a lot like I do.  I got mine in Feb and, with the bonus for sign-up, I have already made A-list and am 85% of the way to companion pass status.

In my wallet: Cap1 Venture ($58k), Amex PRG (NPSL), Amex HH ($4K), Barclays Ring MC ($10K), Chase Sapphire Preferred ($22K), Chase SWA Visa Preferred ($7.5K), Chase United Mileage Explorer VS ($20k), Chase Marriott Rewards VS ($12K), BOA BBR MC ($41K), BOA Visa Sig Cash Rewards ($30K), Chase Ritz VS (9K), NFCU Flagship Visa ($55K), Discover It ($6K), Citi AA ($20K). Everything else in SD.

FICO goal: 800+ (as of 3-6-15: EQ FICO 774,,TU FICO 808, EX FICO 775)

Re: New CC stratagies

No Chase cards now. I had one 20 years ago and paid it off and closed it in good standing.

I would rather have that Barclay's card but the SW card seems to be easier to get.

Re: New CC stratagies

I don't see why you can't get both.

I would apply for the Chase Slate and enter the BT info for the rooms to go during the application.

I would then apply for the Barclay card (I assume you mean Arrival) right after the Chase.

They are not looking at INQ past 12 months so I would not be concerned about your INQ at all.
