Hi Everyone,
I decided to join the forum after monitoring it for a few weeks. Everyone seems knowledgeable and supportive - always a valued aspect of any community forum.
I'm pretty young to the credit card scene, seeing as I'm still in college. I haven't yet, but I will soon be pulling my credit scores. I believe I have good credit because I was recently approved for a PenFed Amex card. Apparently they are quite selective?
Either way, looking to gain some wisdom and pass on my observations as well.
Cheers!
Welcome!
Welcome to the forum! I've learned a great deal from reading and participating in these discussions. It's helped to take a lot of the "guess work" out of applying for and managing credit cards. The information that I've gained here has helped me come a long way in a very short time. I hope that you'll find it to be every bit as helpful as you begin your credit life. Congrats on your PenFed! ![]()
While I have a thread going...
I currently have a student credit card through Northwest Federal Credit Union... The limit is only $1,000 and I find myself often stretching the utilization above 50 percent.
Since I don't carry over any of my credit as I pay it off at the end of the month... Should I look for another card with more perks (student cards have rewards/cashback) and a higher limit?
I will be receiving my PenFed Amex soon but as most everyone knows, Amex isn't accepted everywhere... Suggestions?
Hi and Welcome to the Forums ![]()
This Forum and the Members here are a BIG part of the reason my scores went from a 583 to 770+ in 14 months (And a LOT of HARD work on my part too)
Ask questions, listen to their advice and always pay your CC's on time, just to mention a few things.........
I wish you the best of Luck!
Also, another thing to note...
Pentagon Federal has displayed exceptional customer service. I've called 4 times in the past few days to get some of my questions answered (recently joined as a member) and every single CS agent has been courteous, patient and eager to assist any way possible.
Two thumbs up for PenFed.
