I do like the advice to not jump at the first offer you receive.    The fact that a bank has preapproved you says more about your desireability to them than vice versa (and may say very little anyway).   Prescreen/preapproval doesn't guarantee acceptance and most of us have successfully applied for credit cards with no prior preapproval.  So always evaluate, basically asking "If I hadn't received this preapproval, would I have been interested in this card?"   

 

For new rebuilders the pressure to go for it is understandable ("I need a credit card and they are sort of offering one!") but still do the homework.
