I would not change my habits to satisfy a bank, especially when it's not guaranteed to make any difference. Use the card in situations where it is beneficial, pay in full, and just let time pass. The majority of the time you just need to use the card, pay in full, and let time go by... in the credit world, the passage of time with positive history means a lot.
Agreed. No need to get caught up in what lenders "like" to see. They all generally speaking like to see the same things... usage of the product responsibly, paying it off quickly and doing that for a length of time.
We get credit cards so that they work for us, not so that we work for them.
