Nordstrom Visa Signature Upgrade GRANTED!!

@Guyatthebeach @I received a $2k auto at 3-4 months. I waited roughly 30 days and called to request a cli and it was granted.

I've had reps tell me to wait 1 month, 6 months etc. only to call back 3 days later and received the increase. It really depends on the rep, the state, your usage and payments and probably some other factors. Definitely did not wait 6 months for an increase on Nordy Visa but I did have the the store card for many years. Just an update; My Nordy Visa is now $22K and my Nordy store card is now $15k. Again, Nordy will bump your limit down for overuse on a new card but bump it back up pretty quickly if asked.

I just got my first bill. As soon as the payment posts, I'm going to call to see about a CLI.

WOW! Just tried this out for the retail card and my ci went from $1K to $6K!

Definetly have to try this out in store.

Congrats. Now go into the store and apply for the visa . There’s a good change you’re get it

There is no need to apply for the visa in most cases. Nordstrom does a series of upgrades throughout the year. That's how I was able to obtain my visa.

Yes it’s totally up to you either way is fine. I just Chose Not to wait . I took my store card from 300 to 8000 in about 8 months. Once Nordstrom increased my limit to 8k in went into the store two days later and applied. I was approved for 7500 Visa card.

This is a great read. Looking for some additional advice/guidance on the following:

Last week I got approved for Nordstrom Store Card (which is what I wanted). I tried applying in store but my TU was frozen so went home and call them back to complete app and was approved. About 3 days later I called in and asked for a reconsideration of my initial CL of $500. They asked to update my income which I was like; really, do you think my income has increased in the last 3 days....oh well. They came back and said they could not alter the CL.

Waited a couple more day and called back today. I again asked for a re-consideration of my CL of $500. Told them it wasn't enough for the amount of shopping I do; for my income; and my desire to make it to Icon status by end of Q1. She said it was unlikely they could do a CLI so I just kept saying that I didn't want a CLI per se but rather a RE-CONSIDERATION of the initial CL. She asked if I would hold while she spoke with her Manager and asked them to review. She came back and said she could help me out with my "Icon Goal" by increasing me to $5000. Now to her I was thrilled and thanked her profusely but secretly wanted at least 10-15k. She gave me tips on how to get successful CLIs and advised me to wait until 7 mos after card is open. 

So a few questions for you Nordy Experts:

• I'd like to have the Nordstrom Visa card as well but would prefer not to give up the store card but rather have both. Do you advise I go into the store and asked them to apply for the Visa card? Do I ask for the Visa Plat application or Visa Sig?
• When approved, I'm claiming this win , how do I avoid splitting limits across cards if possible? 
• If I got approved for $5k with the store card what do you think the likelihood I would get that or more on the Visa?
• I'd like to go to the store tomorrow, a day after my CL increase, but is that too soon? Shall I wait a few more days?

Congratulations on your CLI on the store card!

I have the Visa Platinum version that started with a $1500 limit when I opened it. I called and asked for a CLI when I acctivated the card. It was declined and I didnt try for a recon. The associate suggested wait 6 months and try again. Well I called last week and got a $10k CLI with a SP, so I can't complain. After I got the CLI, I asked about getting it upgraded to the Visa Signature, and agent said it was not eligible yet. He said to request it at the store or wait because the bank does Platinum to Signature upgrades automatically from time to time. I'm going to ask next time I'm in the store.  

I have read some people get CLI's every 4 to 6 months on the phone regularly. I have read some folks really get excellent results in the store. hope this helps!
