I've been a full member of USAA since 1996.
I've never app'd them until after my repo in 2007 and of course, they've not approved ANYTHING for me. No secured loans, no CC's, nada.
That's fine...
They did; however, just send me a pre-approval for a CC product of theirs. My first from them. I'm beginning to look good to them, I guess =)
In the trash it went. Didn't even open it up..
YMMV but they offered me the best CL's and APR's when I was rebuilding. Not only on credit cards but auto loans.

I can't throw any of those offers away without at least reading it first...then throw it in the trash...lol.

I thought USAA offers were golden... why wouldn't you apply?

Relationships go both ways and if I recall Repo's tradelines correctly a USAA card is just a tradeline farm which I don't think is necessary (again on my decrepit memory) in his case.
@Anonymous: I still open my offers even though they're all crap
. The really sad ones were the slew of "We'll fix your IRS issues for pennies on the dollar!" on a recently reported silly tax lien: disappointing as evidently some people fall for that scam, IRS OIC's just don't work that way short of hardship claim.

Smart move. Much better cards to waste a HP on.

My wife got offered the cash plus twice, about two weeks apart. Each time I read it and threw it away. Only later did I think, oops, we should have app'd to double the $2000 cap. So, waiting for the next one, but it's been about a month now. (At the time, we will still uncapped, but I knew this was coming...)
