I sure hope you're flying on AA metal vs BA metal. Those fuel surcharges are seriously gonna suck otherwise.

That was the "white unicorn " part: all AA metal, $5 each way in fees on the LAX-LHR and return.
I am not sure why anyone would redeem Discover Cashback for amazon. You are not getting the best value IMO. Unless you got a 1 time coupon for amazon. Better to wait for $25 for $50 shell gift card (Fingers crossed) or maybe save for cruise or car rental, where you get double the return
We cash out both BoA rewards and Disney Premier before our trips. Use them as extra spending for things we normally wouldn't do while there.
My Amex membership rewards points almost always get transferred to Delta Skymiles. My BCE, BoA cash rewards, and Chase Freedom are always redeemed for cash towards my bill. My Discover cash back I only redeem for gift cards since you get the most bang for your buck (example: redeem $40 cb for a $50 gift card to lowes, or $80 for a $100 gift card). The rest of my cards points are used towards travel. ![]()
I checked all my reward cards. Below is what I've earned till today:
QS1 $43 (took me 4 months)
Barclays Rewards $11.3 (1 month)
Amazon Store $6.2 (1 month)
Amazon Chase Visa $5.4 (1 month)
Waiting for Discover to credit my 30% cash back on $100 Sears gift card..
Would like to thank MyFico folks for helping me to choose the right cards ![]()
here's an idea.
take the rewards/cash and use it as a principle only payment on your mortgage. I get at least $4,000/year in cash back from capital one. $4k a year paid toward the principle balance on my mortgage erases 6 to 8 months off the term on my loan.
chbartel...that's actually very smart!! Never thought of that. Thanks!

I usually do it monthly so each month at end of month, I do a credit on my current credit card balance and immediatley make a principle paymet on my mortgage. It's money I never would have received, so I treat it like I never got it..
