I have been a NFCU member for 10 mo...Nrewards 11k Gorewards 7.5....CL

called and spoke to CSR and asked if they do auto CLI, they checked account, and bumped CL on both cards to 17.5K  WOW!

my overall Fico UTL is about 50%, but on these cards it is about 70%.  i have a perfect payment history with them, and i am sure that is what they go by...

i also think that they like if you use other products, like auto loan and LOC...(i have both)

If you don't mind me asking, what is your usage like with your NFCU cards? Are you using for BTs?

no BT as of yet but might do next month.....NOT a heavy user for small purchases, usually airline and other larger ticket items...my scores are similar to yours, however when i became a member they were a bit higher ( low 700's),  pay 5 to 8x minimum payment..

Those Navy Fed auto-CLI's are fantastic.

I'm a fellow Navy Fed member and they

take great care of the membership.

You're right --- the absolute number one thing

Navy Fed looks at for CLI's is paying on time.

High utilization doesn't matter. As long as you

pay on time and don't go over your limit, you have

a great shot at a CLI every 6 months.

And the emphasis on paying on time is reflected in

the CEO's latest comments on the homepage. He talks

about Navy Fed members taking personal responsibility

and being connected. When you make your payments

on time, that allows Navy Fed to lend to someone else. 

The more efficiently this happens, the more profit is 

made....which results in lower loan rates and higher 

deposit rates on savings accounts, CD's, etc.

Once again, Congratulations on the auto-CLI's. It's nice

to know that Navy Fed continues to set the example by

having the confidence to lend to its best members, 

especially during tough times. Enjoy!!!

Wonderfully awesome CLI's!!!  Love them the most!!! Can't wait to get my score up a bit and ask for another one. They just gave me 5k with my 620 and 70% util. Big big congrats!!!1

Congrats!!! I just have one question...When you ask for a CLI does NFCU do a credit check? The reason I ask is because when I got my vehicle loan approved through them my score has dropped alittle. I presently have the rewards card with them and I am interested in asking for a CLI.

They will instantly approve you if they can, but if the approval isn't instant, they refer it to the credit committee which will then result in a hard pull. When I tried for my CLI, I was asked if I wanted the committee to look at it further, and that it would result in a hard pull. However, they made me aware it was optional, and it was my choice to continue.
