I applied for an Amex Blue cash in December and was denied. Said too many inquiries. I have just made 5 apps 2 weeks prior. Didn't want to try them again. Not sure what it takes to get in with them. That would be a good fit. What are your credit limits and age of each account?
How long did you have the CapOne and what was the limit?
Cap 1 was 10+years at 2K
Discover-it 3month at 1K
Chase 3 months at $4500
NFCU 2 years at 15K (had an nRewards opened in 07 which closed in dec-12')

Wow. Ok. ummm ![]()
I see so many with large Discover limits. It was my 4th app in DEC. Im guessing the inquiries are the reason for the toy 1K limit. Makes a good gas card this quarter if nothing else.

Go back to app at CapOne for a no AF card. Seriously. With that history you should be able to get a much larger CL from them.

Perhaps but does the OP really want to deal with Cap One again?

All I saw was there was a concern about the AF, not any issues with CapOne as a CCC.

No I do not. They kind of insulted me with their lack of willingness to try to work out a deal. They could have cared less to keep me as a customer and those who read on here know they have made plenty of money off of me. Kinda thought I was a a good customer. I would rather give my swipes to another bank. Leaning toward CiTi since I am worried Amex Blue will be another no go.

NRB525,
Cap 1 was charging me an annual fee plus a $5 monthly membership fee. They refused to PC me and drop the fees. Even denied a CLI several months back.

Plenty of others on here have gone through the same issues, thus the general opinion that CapOne cards are definitely in specific customer tiers. If you want to break out of the tier they assigned you to 10 years ago when you were just starting out, app for a new card like the Quicksilver no AF card.
Given your long history, I am totally sincere and certain you will get a new, much higher CL, and be pleasantly surprised. CapOne is an excellent balance of low fees (no AF, no FTF, no BT Fees) and decent rewards, once you get out of the starter tiers.
