Orchard Bank Secured Card

They told me at activation i can request unsecure as soon as 6 months.  Anyone have any history with this kind of card with Orachard bank.  Would it be more benificial or hardy to go unsecure if I increased the credit line?

I had it for over a year and they never converted it for me and now I can't seem to get my deposit back.
