You should have held off closing the Orchard account as Cap1 will be sending out new Cap1 cards to Orchard Bank customers in the fall with a rewards structure. During the transition, Cap1 is not giving out CLIs on Orchard cards. If you call the EO you may get your AF waived but that's it. I am very interested in finding out what my Orchard card will turn into in the fall. I think the transition website is www.hellocapitalone.com
Agreed on keeping it opened, this is all business/numbers and I try not to take the negatives as a personal affront.
As for the second part this is true, however like I wrote previously, Cap1 did unexpectedly forward my email to the Orchard EO and they DID give me a CLI. So essentially one email got me a CLI on both Cap1 and Orchard cards. Both EO's were an absolute pleasure to work with and that feeling would've been that same had I not been given CLI's. There was zero script reading, other than the standard financial questions i.e.are you currently employed, what's your salary, etc. There is no comparison to the front line talking boxes.
As always YMMV applies when it concerns CLI's

Thanks. I'm glad I kept the womans number. It may be good to see what can be done.

Interesting that you got a CLI on your Orchard card...that is EXTREMELY rare right now. Congrats! My Orchard limit is $1100 and has been that amount since July 2011. What is your limit on the Orchard card now?
Not certain if that was directed towards me. I won't know until I speak with the EO on Monday. She seemed anxious to retain my business.

Both cards have been open almost 4 years with no CL movement at all, identical 2500 limits. They both were approved for CL of 5k!
Keep in mind that during the 4 years I was never late and never came close to my CL with charges, paid in full most months but not always.
Also, I did not ask for anything else such as a PC nor to get rid of AF (probably shoud've asked for that). The nice lady from Orchard even stated that it was extremely unusual for them to approve anything but they are beginning to rethink their policy and considering my history with them they decided to approve. I'm wondering if they saw C1 up to 5k (since they approved about 3 days earlier) and, now being part of the C1 family, decided to followed suit.
I didn't start out trying to get an Orchard increase as I knew from the forums here that they have put a hold on that during the transition to C1. I simply referenced the Orchard account, along with my C1 savings account and C1 auto loan for them to see how perfect I've been for the last 4 years.
Much to their credit they looked, agreed and approved. Needless to say I'm beyond thrilled.

My DH finally sent an email and I urged him to ask for the APR reduction, fee waived and CLI. A few days later he received a call saying they would look into his concerns ( he had the card or 5 years no CLI and never late). Friday he received a letter saying they would decrease his APR , waive his fee but 'unfortunately Orchard Bank is not doing credit increases at this time' Oh well, 2 out of 3 isn't bad. I told him to try again after the transition is finalized
I've had my Orchard Bank card since 2007 and it started out with a 300 limit. It's now at 1800, and I got a couple auto CLIs but the rest of them were through CS.
Sadly, that was all before the Capital One takeover. I haven't had any luck at all since. But it's my oldest card and the 1800 limit is not bad, so I still use it. Otherwise, I've been pretty happy with Orchard Bank.
