Orchard CLI - Rep didn't know if hard or soft pull

I called Orchard to get an increase from my measly 300 limit. In order to see if an increase was available the rep said he had to pull credit. Is it hard or soft? He said he didn't know..

Which is it? If hard, I'll just close the account. Had the card for 2 years now.

Since you are giving him permissible purpose to look at your credit, I'd just automatically assume it's a HP.

Not to say that it won't be just a SP, but I always assume it's a HP, regardless of what the CSR says.

Re: Orchard CLI - Rep didn't know if hard or soft pull

I was told to freeze my reports before requesting an Orchard CLI for this same reason... might have to do it cause I don't want a HP. I called them up yesterday and the lady said the same thing to me "I don't know if it'll be a HP or SF" I told her I'd be calling back some other time.

Re: Orchard CLI - Rep didn't know if hard or soft pull

Rep tried and tried and tried to save me from closing my card, but couldn't tell me if it would be a HP/SP for CLI.

So I declined her save and closed the account.

You'll likely be waiting for a long time.

Since Cap1 took over HSBC, their policies have clearly changed.  2 Months ago, all of us could have told you it would be a SP...

Yes we all thought that and then many of us saw HP... some actually got a REAL increase that showed the improvement of credit since the time of opening, like $300 CLI to $3500 sort of thing... but most I think and "ME" got a HP and your credit doesn't qualify for ANY CLI...

The last time I called I was told something about Capital One does not have access to all the accounts yet, I guess meaning not like they can't see them, but they cant do CLI and such... my memory is terrible... maybe I posted about it!? (I can't remember that either!)

Integrations can take time when we're talking about the specific product offerings of one company and mapping into the ones of a second.

Jason, between your scores and the likely rest of your report, it's not like you need the Orchard/C1 account.  Frankly both are (or were) stingy with CLi's anyway, it's probably not worth worrying over.

Re: Orchard CLI - Rep didn't know if hard or soft pull

On May 15 (1.5 months ago) I called Orchard to request a CLI.  I had the card for 11 months at that point.  My limit was $300.  They asked if they could pull my credit.  I asked soft or hard?  The rep wasn't sure.  I said fine, go ahead.  They asked my income and I gave it to them.  A few seconds later they came back and said they have increased my limit to $450.  What a joke, I thought to myself, I sure hope they didn't do a hard pull for that!  Since then I've checked my credit reports multiple times and there was no hard pull.  YMMV.
