I called the backdoor # today and was denied a CLI. Ive had my card since March 09 and had a CL of $300 and in Sept was given an increase of $100. I PIFd my balance this week and was still denied. I'll try again next week, don't know why I was denied. Bummer

As a rule, Orchard only gives CLIs every six months. Give it 6 months and a day from your last CLI, then try again.

Oddly, I received a $200 CLI at my request about 4 months ago (some point between my Oct and Nov statement) so imagine my surprise when I logged into my account a few days ago and found they had given me another $200! I'm guessing there must be a bit of flexibility in that 6 month rule. Good timing on their part because I was ready to close it because it wasn't worth it having a card with less than $1K CL but I'll keep it now that it's up to $1100, hoping it will increase more!

Thanks for the information. I was just going on my own experience and what the CSRs at the back door number have told me. Congrats on the CLI! I have a Visa with them  that I have had for 5 years. I get a little bump now and again and, since this card has no AF, I am content to let it sit in my SD and run a bill through it each month to keep it active.

Cheers!

Re: Orchard lucky #

I called today and was told they're no longer accepting telephone requests for credit limit increases at this time.

Smiley Sad

I waited until my payment for my 6th statement had posted.

Re: Orchard lucky #

I have had my card over 6 months now and have always paid in full or close to it. They refuse to give me even a $100 increase, the backdoor # didn't help... I closed the card it's garbage anyway. Smiley Happy

Re: Orchard lucky #

Just got the same story ... "sorry not processing any credit limit increases at this time"  :smileysad:

Said their systems have not been updated to account for the new credit rules that took effect yesterday. Not like they didn't know it was coming!

Re: Orchard lucky #

I have had Orchard for over 3 years.  NO increase during the entire time.  I'm not going to call and beg them for anything.  Started with a $2,000 CL and I guess it will stay there.  I just have a small auto-charge going to it each month to keep my account used but I PIF every month.

Re: Orchard lucky #

called today, said no increases for anyone due to hard economic times. And no authorized users are allowed on my account.

Re: Orchard lucky #

They told us to check back soon for an increase as they are working on a system to allow CLI's over the phone.

Due to this new law they have to verify income now to allow a credit limit increase. This is to prevent the american public from getting themselves thousands into debt and unable to pay it back, thus destimulating the economy.

They said they would notify us once their new system was ready.
