Orchard who? I love WaMu!

So, I had a Orchard Card at one time, then I applied for a pre-approved Gold Card with the intention of combining the cards.  Both cards were $600.  So, they let me combine the cards and I had $1200.  Then on my latest statement, it showed available credit of $600, not $1200.  I called and they said that they reduced my CL b/c of excessive inquiries.  I was so mad, I had to get my available credit back.  So, I had read many favorable things about WaMu on this forum.  I applied for their platinum mastercard.  I was shocked.  They gave me $1500 w/ 14.64%.  HSBC, you have just been sockdrawered.  Thank you WaMu for believing in me!

So, my new mix:

WaMu Platinum MasterCard: $1500
Chase Platinum Visa: $300
Cap1 No Hassle Cash: $300
Cap1 MasterCard: $500
Hooters: $3000
HSBC Gold MasterCard: $600
CareCredit/GEMB: $$1000

I will combine Cap1's once they both reach $500.  Hopefully, they don't treat me like HSBC did.

Hey you guys,

HSBC just gave me an increase from $500.00 to $700.00 sweet. I just logged in to my account to see the balance and was shocked when I saw credit limit.

Oh yeah, by the way. On your personal homepage where it shows your purchases, have anyone really tried getting a credit recommended by MyFico?

Re: Orchard who? I love WaMu!

Chase definetely dissappointed me.  I will stick it out for a while and see what they do, though.  Worth a shot.  I was really just trying to eliminate the AF by combining my cards.  Orchard had a $59, HSBC had none.  Interest rates were comparable.  Just amazed to get about the same interest rate and a $1500 CL from WaMu.  This is great.  I came out ahead just by being angry enough to say, "what the heck, I'll apply."  Also, when I asked about re-opening the Orchard account, they said no.

Re: Orchard who? I love WaMu!

chase really disappointed me. i will NEVER carry a chase card again.

i was a customer who paid my bill on time for 4 yrs without missing a payment. when i did miss a payment, they closed my account...have charged me as many fees as you can think of. my minimum payment is $205 a month and they refuse to lower my interest rate which is currently 29.9%.

so now i get to pay all these fees on a closed account until it is paid off and will see NO rewards.

CCs that i found to be decent are: Citi, Discover, Capital One, and Wells Fargo

Re: Orchard who? I love WaMu!

You were able to secure a WaMu card with a CLI of $1500; Hooters for $3000 and your scores were under 600? I wrote a post earlier this week and asked about WaMu and was told I should wait until scores were way over 600.

Re: Orchard who? I love WaMu!

Seems that Hooters and WaMu are easier creditors to get approved with.  I also think a large part of the equation is income.  This is especially true for Hooters.  They give great credit limits to those with high enough income.  However, they are not so nice when it comes to APR.  Min is 28%.  Never carries a balance and I think that is how they want to keep it with an interest rate like that.  Good incentive to pay.  The other creditors, I don't think put as much weight on income as these two.  Just go to whogavemecredit.com and search.  You will see people getting approvals on these two with low and high income.  Some of the low ones have awesome scores, but hardly any income, therefore, they get a good rate, but a low CL.  Hope this helps.

Re: Orchard who? I love WaMu!

With all do respect it appears that Hooter's failed to take my income into consideration at all !!!

I'm not complaining but it definately was not the case with me.....
