Over the limit???

One more ? .... If I was over the limit by $5 on one card... Paid it back down.... Do I have to wait to apply 4 a card? Will I get denied "cards over balance" if it isent that month? Any help?

Did your statement close with the $5 over limited fee. If you paid before that then you do not a problem in applying 4 CCs.

While mentoring to the young'ns in college about credit card responsiblity, I'm always telling them and members in this forum to always leave a cushion below your credit limit -- like $100.  On low-limit cards, I tell members to consider half of their limit as their New Credit Line.  It's easy to run up a tab and just tip-toe over the edge if you're daring enough to nearly maxing it out, so I change the mentality of users to re-think their max line as $100 or more below the actual to avoid such cases as this.
