PC/Upgrade from Bestbuy Store Card to Bestbuy RZP MasterCard ?

Does anyone know if this is possible ?

I recently requested a CLI on my Bestbuy Store Card (CapitalOne, $1,000 CL, $0 balance) & got declined. Wasn't expecting that. Finally got the letter today & this is what it says:

"We recently reveiwed your request for a credit limit increase on the above referenced Account. Unfortunately, we are unable to increase your credit limit at this time because you are the maximum credit limit for this type of account."

Is $1,000 really the max limit for this type of card ? Also has anyone PC'd or been upgraded to the MasterCard version ? Thanks.

Sounds like you have the Type B which is capped at $1k, or maybe that's Type A. I don't remember but have never heard of anyone upgrading from store to MC, I have however read of people getting the account type switched. You should email Mr. Fairbanks CEO of Capital One (google for his email) and ask if they can product change you into MC or the other store type.

Is this something that has been successful for others in the past?

YMMV, but a friend of mine tried this exact same thing and was told her card was not eligible for a PC. This was not via the EO though, so maybe you'll have better luck with the EO route. Good luck!

you have a plan b card mines capped at 1940 i emailed eo and they told me they could not change it to a plan a card only thing you can do is reapply and you will get deined you can call the eo and they can override it if you have a plan b she also told me they can do a hp for a cli but i was like naa i think i am going to wait for citi to take it over and see how they handle these accounts

Unfortunately you got the Plan B Card....AFAIK the MC versions of the BB cards do not qualify for special financing. Could change when Citi takes over but I wouldn't hold my breath since little has changed since Cap1 took over for HSBC.  Your best bet would be to Email EO and see if they'll budge or close the card and reapply. I don't know if there turnaround wait time. Also there are many threads around here and other message boards regarding Best Buy store card. I suggest taking sometime to help figure out your strategy.
