PC from US Bank Platinum to Cash +

So I am still "in the garden" and plan to be here until 2015.  I figure I may as well use this time to plan future apps...

Thanks to the advice I received on this board, I tailored my app spree to get the cards that best suit my current lifestlye.  And I am loving my current lineup of cards!  There really aren't any cards out there I want...except for the US Bank Cash +   

I would love to upgrade my US Bank Platinum to the Cash + at some point.  The Platinum is my lowest CL ($1K) and offers no rewards.  I got it by "graduating" from the USB secured card to Platinum, therefore I was not offered the 12 month introductory 0%.  I can't even use it as a BT card.  I barely use it, and was tempted to cancel it all together, but am hoping it's possible to upgrade to the Cash + card (once my one remaining baddie falls off next year).  

Has anyone been able to successfully PC from Platinum to Cash+?  Will USB want me to have an "intermediate" card first (i.e. Cash Rewards)?

Quite a few people have PC'd the Platinum into a Cash+. You do need to get the credit limit up to $5000 first.

Do you mean I need to have a >$5000 CL with any of my cards, or I need a $5000+ CL specifcally the US Bank Platinum?  Also, do you know if requesting a CLI with USB is a HP or SP?

I have been turned down for a PC to ANY card, not just cash+.

Even, my card has 1K CL. Personally, just make sure, they will PC after you request a CLI to bump for 5K. Or else, it would be a waste of HP

The Platinum has to have a $5000 CL I'm pretty sure it's a HP for a CLI.

I just got my USB Platinum to $5k just as of yesterday so i'm hoping a few more months from now I am able to PC it to the Cash+ ... I'll be creeeping on a year with the card this July...

Since I have several $5000+ CL's with other cards, I wonder if it would be better just to app for the Cash + independently (instead of trying to PC)?  The AAofA hit would be pretty small (the platinum is only 2 years old).  

I'd hate to take a HP for a card I don't even want, just so I can later take another HP when PCing it to Cash +.

I agree, I had my flex select for 11 months with a 4.5k limit...I called and said I have no offer for upgrade to travel rewards. CSR recommended to apply for it at the branch..just afraid I may get stuck with a second select rewards visa.
