i was thinking about getting this card. i have some negatives falling off and would like to add a few good TLs. once upon a time you could call PNC and asked to be mailed an application. is that option still available or do you have to apply in the branch?

I guess my question is why pick this one when there are better options of various sorts available?
I don't know much about the PNC card other than it exists, but it always is relegated to the "third tradeline, pick up whatever you want" vs. other much better cards which should fill the first two.
Generally speaking and there's some debate on this in no particular order as people need different things:
Pick a couple which suit your individual needs and do that would be my recommendation.
because I was thinking i could link the credit card for overdraft protection and BoA denies everyone even for secured cards. it might be a waste of an inquiry. last time i checked fico one was 520 the other was 550. i would like to get over 600 as a short term goal. ill look into some of the others you mentioned. thanks.

I am not to fimilar with pnc but with those scores i think boa would be a strech. Try cap one secured it has a low anual fee and several people incudling myself have recieved unsecured cli on the card after 6 months.

This was my first CC and I had to go to a branch to fill up the application. I had an account with them though. It reports as secured CC and does not graduate to an unsecured card.
