PRG 50k offer?

Re: PRG 50k offer?

I had to try numerous times and switching VPN to numerous IPs before I finally got the 50k offer last night. Applied for it and was approved after recon. As a data point I had to use Chrome in ingonito mode using an IP from Israel. HTH.

Kinda wierd while I am at work I have no problem getting offer, but while at home have some issues.  Weird thing is I use the same computer and browser as work/home being my work laptop.

Think they are going by ip.  Hence the vpn and/or location trick.

This 'inspired' me a bit, so I tried to replicate your results by using an Israeli VPN along with Chrome/incognito, but I still get the same 25k MR point offer.  When I have some spare time I might try some other countries/cities to see if it makes a difference for me.

At this point, there almost seems to be a 'randomness' to it, to be honest.

Re: PRG 50k offer?

Sorry to hear that it was a no-go for you. Was it on a Mac or PC? Not sure if that makes a difference, but mine was on a Mac. I did try quite a few different locations before getting to one that worked. I think you are right about the randomness as i don't see any ryhme or logic; maybe there is some sort of a counter that triggers the offer after "x" # of accesses of the page ... who knows...

Ah, I'm on a PC, so that could be the difference.  Smiley Surprised

I know in the past other companies have presented different marketing (and sometimes even different prices) to Mac users (versus PC users) with the thought that Mac users are generally a more affluent group, so that very well could be a factor.  It's likely not the only factor, but knowing some of Amex's past practices I wouldn't put it past them to take anything and everything into consideration.  Smiley Frustrated

Re: PRG 50k offer?

You Guys!!! AHH! I finally was able to get it! I just tried connecting my VPN to an Israel address, and it worked!!

I applied and was approved. (Have only been trying to get this to show up for the past 3 weeks..)

NOW - I have a question:

It wants me to register for an account. I have 2 options:

1) Make a new user account

2) Connect to a current account.

While this is my first PRG card, I am concerned that they might flag me as a current amex customer if I link it to an existing online account.

What should I do?

Thanks!

Awesome.  Glad you got it finally.  Just add it to your existing account.  Won't make a difference.   Just keep screenshot of 50K application and later when you get card, verify on chat that you are under the 50K offer.  You'll get the points without issue.
