Agreed. I view the Venture card as a 2% cash back card that happens to have a pretty nice sign-up offer (most cash back cards, like the Citi DC, have nothing as a bonus or something smaller). However, past the first year, the annual fee make the Venture card make not much sense (unless you view the $59 AF as a price for a metal card).
