I am considering joining PSECU - I'm interested in getting my foot in the door with another CU, obtain another credit card, and of course, have access to my EX score 
It appears that many folks are reporting two hard inquiries: 1 to join, 1 to app for credit. Is there a way of joining AND app'ing for credit using the same hard inquiry? If yes, I would appreciate it if you would please let me know.

No, there isn't. Unfortunately, it will require 2 hard INQ.

A scant few have reported success forcing another bureau pull instead of EX but this is apparently a v. rare exception... They generally insist on EX and It is not possible to reuse an inq with them, so membership and product will = 2 HP.

I find EX easier to deal with in terms of combining/removing inqs, I was told by their dispute dept that they could combine inqs made by the same company within 30 days.
