Can anyone join PSECU? I'm a resident of CT, not PA. Is the application process easy in general, if open to all?
Is it worth joining PSECU just to get access to EX FICO?
I'll be applying for mortgages in CT (no interest in PA at all) and I want to know EX FICO before beginning.
Never mind. I found helpful info in other posts.

It was easy to join once upon a time, but way too many people joined and now the CU was forced to tighten up ship especially since some people asked for the max credit lines due to their easyish approval standards, maxed it out and are now missing payments. Along with the good comes bad apples that will surely do whatever it takes to stay afloat a little bit longer and it hurts everyone else that joined and treating them responsibly.
Regarding membership, it's now taking people a really long time to get in and they are making them jump through lots of hoops. It's a hard on EX so its up to you if you want to take the risk. Calling them about your application status might even get you drilled about where you heard of them because they were blindsided and are unaware that it's due to the power of the internet.
PSECU has been dicking me around for 2 1/2 months... I would NOT recommend them to anyone.
I had no problems joining. Along with my signed applications, I also mailed them a copy of my driver's license and SS card (they didn't request this, I chose to do this to avoid any issues) so there would be no problems whatsoever. Everything went smoothly and after about a month, I received my EX score which I haven't seen since 2009! Other people have had different experiences.
I have not applied for anything else from them though - just their checking and savings.
Starting Score: 648It's been 4 weeks since I applied for membership and still nothing. I've sent tons of paperwork/supporting documents to them and they are dragging their feet. I called to inquire about the status once and they were rather rude. Not very happy with them so far....

Get ready to have to re-apply for their membership ( and another hard pull on your credit! ) They pulled hard on me two times for the SAME application, about 3 weeks apart, and then said my timeframe expired and I would have RE-APPLY again.

@Anonymous!! That's just a bunch of crap. Not sure I would re-apply....but I know that I will be sending a strongly worded letter to somebody high up @ PSECU....

Is this a fact, or just a guess? From what I read, they tighten up on their approval criteria because the sudden mass applications for membership and credit, but didnt hear it was because of maxed out credit lines and an increase of members missing payments. Its a shame if this is true.

Please PM me if you get an email address to someone higher up... I wouldn't mind letting them know how I feel about them myself.
