Hi,
I just applied for the PayPal Extras Mastercard, and was instead approved for the Smart Connect instead (still OK I guess, I do a lot of online shopping and most retailers except PayPal).
My question is was this a HP? I would figure it was, but it never asked me for my SSN, only income and DOB. Is it because my SSN was already tied to my PayPal account? Also, I cannot find the APR for the life of me anywhere on the terms or the site, anyone who has this Smart Connect know where the APR is located?
Thanks!
It's 26.99% and likely a HP. You can see the interest rate on the card holder agreement or on your statement.
Hmm they must of pulled TU. Did you have to accept PayPal SC? And yeah it most likey did check your credit with a HP.

Do you happen to have any other cards issues by GEMB. When you say applied did you actually go the the specfic webpage or was it a popup or part of the account creation when you logged on your account. If so chances are that it was a SP at least mine was however I did not apply persay It just prompted me one time when I logged on my account. I have a couple tradelines with GEMB and was not actively seeking anymore but since it was a SP I took it, I did make sure to check my TU report several times over the next few months after accepting the offer but there was no hard inquiry added to my report just the new tradeline reporting.
Nevermind, called PayPal to check - it can be used as a secondary source so if no funds in PayPal it will take from SmartConnect with 1% cash back (incase anyone else was wondering)

Interesting...not entirely sure how PayPal works with its backup sources, but couldn't you use that as a method for a free cash advance of sorts (ie cash back at a grocery store)

yes you could if you use the pin code, I think however the 1% cash back is only for non pin code transactions
You can use it as backup funding for your paypal debit card. They have really high interest rate.

It will NOT allow you to do the cash advance (yes I tried it once) but as posted before when linked as a secondary source of payment to the paypal debit card you do earn 1% cash back and it's swiped like a normal credit card transactions! I use it all tthe time, both for ebay shoping and using my PP debit card as the "credit card" and pulls from my SC acct.
