Paypal tries to sell me their credit card all the time. I already have their debit card, it's 1.5% cash back.. ONLY debit card in the world that I know of that gives you cash back.

That IS a good deal! The USAA debit card gives cash back, but it's only 0.5%, or 1 point for $2 on the debit card if you want points.

The more I read the more Amazon Visa seems like the way to go to get my feet wet with Credit again. My family has had an Amazon account for 2 years or so and we all buy everything on it. So if I simply apply through that account which is in good standing. I'd imagine/hope that as a long-standing customer that would contribute to any decision making process.
