Re: PenFed and CCCU?

I got the Hooters card with a $36 AF, high interest rate, and crappy $500 limit. I was a dumb kid with credit cards many years ago. It seems like it is going to haunt me the rest of my life. I've long since graduated college and am well into my career. I make decent money, but I can't get any kind of credit card with a limit in the multiple thousands. It's depressing...

Re: PenFed and CCCU?

It does seem like you're not getting any love, except for Cap 1, I think it was.

If you have any current scores with FICO EQ or TU, what does it tell you when you run the sims? There has to be some kind of strategy that you could get going on. Spinning in circles wears you down, I know...

Re: PenFed and CCCU?

Capital One is the only card that will even give me anywhere near $1000. The FICO simulators say stuff that is normally common sense. Like, pay down your loans. Well, duh. I promise I will never screw up my credit again. I just wish the lenders would believe me.

Re: PenFed and CCCU?

How much bad stuff do you have within the last two years? Do you have any anniversaries coming up where something will go over 2 years, over 4 years, and stuff?

It's pathetic how excited I am at the thought of my newest card going over one year in December and losing its inq. But I'm pretty much at the stage of all I can do is send GW's and mark another day off the calendar.

Re: PenFed and CCCU?

I have a couple lates on student loans from when I bought my place and missed the address change to Direct Loans. I sent them a GW but haven't heard back from them.

Thing is, I haven't really done anything bad in the past 2 years. I messed up bad in 2002. I have a judgement, and 2 bad accounts. The bad accounts were then sold to Hilco and Portfolio, and they update on my reports once a month like clockwork, making it look like I do have recent baddies.

I know Portfolio is based here in Virginia, so I was thinking about calling them and threatening to do bad things to them if they don't delete, but that might land me in jail, which would suck worse that the current situation.

Hilco and Portfolio are evil.
