Penfed...Am I In?

I applied for a 15K LOC online. The decision was pending.

I called in and they requested my tax return. Just faxed it over.

Good sign? They also made my account eligible to transfer funds and removed the wait period.

I will update as soon as I hear from them.

Re: Penfed...Am I In?

Good sign! Asking for tax returns means they're wanting to determine how much credit they can extend you.

Don't forget that you can use this same credit report pull to ask for additional products. Smiley Wink

Hey Hauling,

Thanks, and I think I'm going to prove you wrong Smiley Very Happy

How long can I use this same credit report for additional products? That's nice!

Re: Penfed...Am I In?

Yep, I'm a member. I joined in March 08, as the first app in my planned app spree.

I have a token $50 share account that's all the way up to $50.76 or something ridiculous, the Plat Visa, an auto loan, an LOC, and now the AmEx. I took the LOC when it was offered, before they had the AmEx, and I've never used it. It just sits there.

I use my Plat for gas and grocs, and I bought some plane tickets for my kids with the AmEx.

I've found their phone CS highly variable, shall we say, especially when I was changing the title on my car. But once you figure out their website (which is better than it used to be, believe me), they're very low-maintenance. But I don't care about the occasional snippy CSR, the rewards on that gas card are golden. I look on it like buying $3 gas for $2.85.

Of course, I'm old enough to remember buying gas for 60 cents a gallon, and that was in Hawaii, and we thought it was crazy expensive.

* heads off to take a Geritol *

eta: seems like the app is good for 60-90 days? Are they still doing that? <-- question for other newish members

Re: Penfed...Am I In?

You're a PF pro! That's a lot of accounts w/ one institution.

So I guess I should do my app spree with them now, huh? I wouldn't mind taking the promise Visa. I might as well, if they give it to me.

I'll wait for the approval and then call up and see if I qualify for anything else!
