Okay - have been trying the usual sites, Chase, Citi, etc....they always give me the same - sorry we cannot find any pre-qualify for you but think that you may like this card....the Citi gives the APR 12.99 - 22.99 based on credit - this time I clicked on "more info" and for the rate it actually gives 15.99 instead of the spread - does that mean anything?
I know, not qualified (only 4 years out of BK) one can always dream though
I think I am going to have to "officially" join the garden instead of doing on my own
Thanks

It means nothing you can still be denied ...sorry
If you care to share your profile we may be able to make suggestions
Doesn't mean anything. Either it's a pre-qualify or it isn't. The rate on the second screen is probably just showing you the current rate based on the algortihm they use to place the rate within the spread.
I know it sucks, but you will get there!
What *is* in your wallet right now?
Yeah, I kinda figured (knew) that, sometimes though, I think it helps to dream....I just got approved for the Discover IT card, and since the transition - i now have 3 Cap One cards and the Best Buy card backed by Capital One as well......I owe one more payment (18 mos financing paid in 10 mos) on the BB card....and yesterday afternoon I decided to start using my credit cards. For some reason it is hard for me to remember to use my credit cards - just so easy to grab the debit card (especially since it gives me 1% cash back). However, I know that I have to show usage on my credit cards....the Household bank card (now C1) actually decreased my credit line b/c of NON usage.....
So...figured I would start using the cards some and maybe - JUST maybe, C1 would allow an increase on at least one of my cards
Guess I probably need to officially join the garden - if someone would be so kind as to guide me in that direction
Thanks
K

Yeah, if you just got the IT card I would spend some time tending to it before apping anything else.
When you do come out of the garden next, I'd apply for a GECRB card (e.g. Walmart). They are easier to grow limits with than Capital One.
But for now, treat that Discover IT well and sip a mint julep in the garden.

Which debit card gives you 1% cash back? Not PerkStreet I hope!

Will do, i signed up for the 5% bonus on gas for this quarter and signed up for the extra 2% for the rest of this month....broke it out yesterday after I got home from work, already started filling up the vehicles...hopefully it will grow with me as long as I use it - that is my hardest part, we went soooo many years without using credit cards that it is hard to remember to use them
Oh well......gardening it is, excited to see if Wal-Mart will finally approve me after a few months (haven't had any luck with them in the past few years so gave up)
Thanks
