Apprently there's different flavors of Priority Pass according to their website... but I can't find the difference between Select that is complementary to me from AMEX and Chase vs regular Priority Select, Standard Plus, and Prestige. Any one know what the difference is on Select version?
basic priority pass levels
Priority Pass select means it came from a credit card(and guest access and cost are per card) and it depends on the card whether the priority pass restaurants are included
the cards with restaurant access
Capital One Venture X Business card (formerly known as the Spark Travel Elite card).*
Chase Sapphire Reserve.
Citi Prestige® Card (no longer open to new applicants).*
The Ritz-Carlton Credit Card.*
UBS Visa Infinite Card.*
And cards can have a limited number of visits like the altitude reserve with 4, Hilton surpass with 10 visits etc.
Just a minor clarification on the history of the "select" designation: my understanding-- it is for those who gain their Priority Pass membership from a US based credit card. The "Select" status was originally instituted for a number of years when United Airlines allowed Priority Pass members into their airline clubs but did not want to allow holders of Priority Pass through US credit cards into their club and thus discourage the sale of United Club memberships domestically. At that time, I had an overseas AMEX card which granted me a standard Priority Pass membership so I was able to use the United Clubs based on my foreign card.
Now that United has discontinued access to their clubs for any Priority Pass cardholders, I have been mystified why Priority Pass continues to issue Select cards as I see no difference from standard card access unless they are leaving the door open for other airline clubs to restrict US credit cardholders in the future.

It has been a while but i have seen pictures of priority pass lounges restricting those with membership from credit cards during busy times.
